PARADISE IN PROVENCE

I was invited to join my friends in Saint RemyDe-Provence and ....... I FELL IN LOVE WITH FRANCE.
Last year I visited Paris , the Fashion ,the Architecture and the museums left me in awe but there is just something about the South of France that encapsulates this then transforms it, providing you with a completely relaxed lifestyle where you feel more comfortable walking around in a white linen dress and basket than the latest catwalk trends.

D' Eygalieres

D' Eygalieres

Titled “The Canopies,” this creation of the artist Jacques Salles will grace the small square Favier in St Remy until August 17 2011

My modern interpretation of Van Goghs Vase with 12 Sunflowers.

Van Gogh resided in the Saint Paul-de-Mausole a former monestry In St Remy shown above and to the right. During his time there he completed over 150 paintings many of which are his most famous and during a short walk around the town you can clearly see spots in which he sat to create his masterpieces.

Bastile day celebrations in the heart of St Remy, a mix of french music and chart toppers like Lady GaGa kept us and the locals dancing till 2am.

Chanel at the Arenes Municipales.
The chic designer names seen everywhere in the City seem nonexistent in Provence they blend into the relaxed lifestyle surprisingly fitting in down the dusty streets of Provence. They take a lot of pride in everything however not in a showy way, they do it because they want to. Take the olive oil above , it has
been presented in a way that resembles a Chanel No5 perfume bottle, they have put effort into making the product so they take extra effort into making it look great too. If you want to purchase this quality French olive oil follow this link. http://www.estoublon.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&page=shop.browse&category_id=1&Itemid=19&lang=en&vmcchk=1&Itemid=19

Our relaxed pace of life was slightly uprooted for the day when we headed to the Principality of Monte Carlo.........this was the first time i had visited Monte Carlo and the first word that springs to mind is CARS.
the wealth is extortionate with millions of pounds worth of cars whizzing past you on one side of the street then a group of equally money rich people sat on their 100ft yachts in the harbour on the other side, all probably here for a stay in the Hotel De Paris where 1 nights stay will cost you at least £800.

WE LEFT THE PROVINCIAL CARS
The local estate agents car.

!!!!!!!

Lunch at the Cafe De Paris, pop into the Casino then take a trip down to the Harbour. After that walk a nice bit of afternoon tea at the Hotel De Paris. It certainly didnt disappoint.

OUTFIT OF THE DAY
Designer dressing was suddenly back in and labels were being walked around on long legged manicured women everywhere but my personal best dressed people were these two twins below.

An outfit that is fashionable and functional in the summer heat isnt always easy to find but there two girls have encapsulated many of the main summer trends :- Floral print, Neon colours, Delicate lace and a boating hat. the box shape of the floral dress hung beautifully and exuded luxury.

Its a place where the fashionistas of Paris come on their holidays and i would recommend a long weekend here to anyone, it is a experience that will stay with you a lifetime. While sat at the airport headed back to the City i got one last reminder of Provincial living.

Why have a shop in departures, people wont mind queuing for the vending machine!
